摘要 

习语是一种具有极深文化内涵的、有完整特有意义的高度浓缩的语言，由于地理、历史、宗教以及文化环境等的不同，英语习语在汉译时大都需要借助注释，但这往往失去了习语所特有的文化意义。在阅读相关文献的前提下，我对习语翻译的常见影响因素进行了分类，其中自然环境、地理位置、生活方式、文化观念和宗教信仰等因素主要影响着英语习语的翻译。同时也选取不同译本进行对比，分析其翻译方法以及优缺点，发现如今的译者更加注重习语的文化内涵翻译，而非仅仅关注形式和表面意义的传达。

本文主要分析了影响英语习语翻译的主客观因素以及英语习语翻译时常用的方法。目前英语习语常用的翻译方法有同义习语套用法、直译加注法和意译法。因此，要是能在汉语环境下，找出与之意义功能对等的习语将大有益于我们对英语习语的理解与记忆，也有助于对比中西方历史、文化、民俗和观念等方面的差异，进而对不同背景下，中西方人民思维以及人文环境的不同有更加深刻的了解，从而为规范英语习语翻译提供参考。
