模糊限制语在新闻报道中的普遍使用越来越受到人们的重视。本文着重研究英语新闻中模糊限制语的差异和具体表达。从语用学角度对模糊限制语进行分类和分析，并以BBC News和 China Daily中的几篇英语新闻作为研究语料，分析和解释了模糊限制语在英语新闻中的语用功能的体现及其具体应用。分析和研究英语新闻报道中模糊限制语的语用功能，能够提高新闻报道者使用模糊限制语的技巧，同时能提高新闻报道的质量和影响力。
