摘要 

中英文语言孕育于两种不同的文化土壤之中，都有其独特的内涵和底蕴。语言中的数字可以反映出物质世界中的大小、数量与规模，但是由于各种语言中所包含的文化传统、思维观念、以及对于数的感觉、理解与取向的差异，不同语言赋予数字的社会文化内涵也不尽相同。数字作为语言文化的一种，可以折射出不同的文化层面。

本文运用对比研究的方法，通过比较中英文数字词在文化内涵表达上的差异及影响数字词表达的主要影响因素来探讨英汉文化中数字文化的差异，进一步促进跨文化交际。
