An Interpretation of Feminism From the Prototype of Cinderella in The Twilight Saga_英语论文

摘要

美国女作家斯蒂芬妮·梅尔的“暮光之城”系列小说自出版以来就受到全世界读者的喜爱,本文根据弗莱的神话与原型批评理论，通过分析《暮光之城》中“灰姑娘”原型在小说中的应用与发展，将“灰姑娘”原型中灰姑娘的身份背景，在得到幸福过程中帮助过她的人以及最后的结局与《暮光之城》中的贝拉进行对比分析，得到“灰姑娘”原型在上述三个方面得到了继承。而随着时代的变迁，“灰姑娘”形象在原型的基础上有了新的发展，反映出不同时代下的女性主义。所以本文分析了贝拉和“灰姑娘”在主动追求爱情，追求平等和反抗父权统治这三个方面的不同，得到贝拉在以上三个方面是对于“灰姑娘原型”发展的结论，最后从中解读贝拉的女性主义，得到对现代女性有教育意义的启示。

Abstract

The book, The Twilight Saga which is written by American woman writer Stephenie Meyer, has been popular with readers around the world since its publication. . According to Frye’s theory of Myth-Archetypal Criticism, this paper is trying to make comparative analysis between Bella and Cinderella from the background, those who helps them to get happiness and the happy ending through the analysis of the application and development of Cinderella prototype in The Twilight Saga, pointing out that there is a development of Cinderella prototype in above three aspects. However, as time goes by, the "Cinderella" image has inherited and developed based on the prototype reflecting different kinds of feminism at different ages. So this paper analyzes the difference between Bella and Cinderella on taking the initiative to pursue love, having the awareness of rebellion for equality and fighting against patriarchy, and coming to the conclusion that Cinderella prototype is developed in above three aspects. In the end, this paper is trying to make an interpretation of feminism from Bella and get the enlightenment of educational significance to modern women.
