摘要

在美剧成为国内年轻人在家消遣娱乐的首选的同时，其字幕翻译引起了越来越多的重视。由于美剧是我们了解美国文化的重要途径，字幕翻译如何最大程度做到不失韵味同时又能让观众轻松接受成为了最大挑战。而且，所有观众都来自不同的文化背景，对于翻译的需求和期待也各有不同。但不同于文本翻译，字幕翻译具有其自身的特点。由于在目的论的框架中，翻译的一个重要的决定因素是观众，而这同时符合美剧的最大特点，所以目的论是研究美剧翻译最理想的指导理论。本文基于目的论，以美国情景喜剧《摩登家庭》为例，结合字幕特点和跨文化传播等各方面因素，根据剧中不同场景的例子，探析美剧字幕翻译所选择的翻译策略，并总结出技巧：翻译应在保持原文风格的基础上，根据不同文本的特点选择不同的翻译技巧，而非一概而论。并且，作为翻译者应掌握剧中的相关知识。本文为日后字幕翻译提供技巧参考并帮助改善目前美剧翻译的质量。
