Diachronic Change of Chinese Address Terms from the Perspective of  Politeness Principle—A Comparative Study of Two Chinese TV Dramas I love my family and Home with kids_英语论文

摘要

近年来，关于称呼语的研究在国内外受到越来越多专家学者关注。本研究主要搜集分析了《我爱我家》和《家有儿女》两部电视剧中出现的亲属称呼语，通过语料分类、整理和分析，总结汉语称呼语在20世纪末和21世纪初的两个十年间所发生的历时变化，并基于礼貌原则进一步探讨汉语称呼语变迁的原因，特别是其反映出的中国社会家庭关系的变迁和发展趋势。

数据分析结果显示，夫妻之间和子女之间的称呼语都在种类上随着时间发展而增多，具有了更好的灵活性和实用性；夫妻间称呼语的对等体现了当今社会男女平等得以贯彻和深化的事实；而夫妻称呼和亲子称呼在变化趋势上最大的不同在于，儿女与父母之间的尊卑差别依旧明显，这与中国传统的孝道文化和长幼尊卑礼秩有关。该研究希冀为历史语用学以及礼貌研究做出一点贡献。

Abstract

Recently, address terms have drawn considerable attention in the academic circle. This study collected address terms from two dramas I love my family and Home with kids. Based on Politeness Principle, all the address terms are divided into four categories according to the relationship between addresser and addressee. The diachronic changes of address terms mirror social development and cultural changes in China. 

The findings of this study are as follows: address terms in these four categories become more diverse and flexible as time changes. With the passage of time, address forms tend to change from formal to informal as the gaps of age, gender and generations in a family are being narrowed. Particularly data show the equality and justice between men and women have been promoted greatly during this period. As address terms can reflect the mainstream culture and social values, this study hopes to contribute to Historical Pragmatics and Politeness study.
