摘要 

流行音乐作为当代文化不可或缺的构成因素，能够反映社会发展状况和人类生活的情感。对音乐艺术的审美鉴赏是社会文化建设的重要组成部分，不同的文化环境会产生不同的音乐创作形式。所以，本论文着眼于流行音乐发源地之一的美国和流行音乐快速发展的中国，把流行音乐作为研究中美文化差异的重点对象，分析中美不同的文化下形成的流行音乐在发展过程、主要形式、不同类型、文化价值观、文化适应过程和文化追求这六个方面的具体差异。本研究从不同的文化视角出发，运用比较法剖析中美两国文化的差异以及形成中美流行音乐差异的原因，从而更深入地了解中美两国的流行音乐的特征。

通过本论文的研究，作者发现不同的文化背景对两国流行音乐的形成和发展确实产生了巨大的影响，两国截然不同的文化背景给流行音乐在发展速度、表现形式、与外来流行因素相互融合这几个方面带来了巨大的影响。
