摘要 

汉语典故成语众多，记载了许多历史故事、神话传说、趣闻轶事，传承了中华民族千年文明。汉语典故成语历史悠久，使用广泛，具有深刻的文化内涵。从文化角度看，典故成语具有历时性和融合性的特点。从语言角度看，典故成语具有简洁性和隐喻性等特点。随着跨文化交流日益频繁，中国文化需要“走”出去，由于目前对于典故成语的翻译研究较少，因而针对典故成语的翻译研究极具价值。典故成语的英译不仅仅是语言上的问题，更涉及文化层面的因素，这也是翻译的难点所在。生态翻译学从生态学视角对翻译进行研究的理论，同时提出了一种新的翻译方法，三维转换即语言维转换，文化维转换和交际维转换。本文在生态翻译学理论指导下，从三维转换的角度浅析典故成语的英译。在案例研究中，通过收集典故成语的翻译并从语言维的结构和修辞手法，文化维的意象表达和宗教信仰问题以及交际维的不同的交际意图角度对典故成语的翻译进行分析研究，得出译者需要将翻译过程看作选择与适应并要努力实现在语言维，文化维和交际维的三维转换的结论。
