Language Characteristics and Translation Strategies of Public Signs in Business English_英语论文
摘要
中国对外开放后,外国商人和旅客来中国进行交易、旅游的人数持续增加,英语告示语已经渗透到社会的各个角落,普及范围日益广泛,受到了人们更多的关注。告示语有其自身语言特色,即广泛使用名词、动词、动名词、短语、缩略语、现在时和祈使句,有时配以图文,告示语本身也具有四种不同的功能:指示性、提示性、限制性和强制性。要真正掌握英语告示语的语言特点及翻译不仅要精通语言知识,还需掌握一些商务专业知识。同时在商务英语告示语翻译中必须遵循一定的翻译原则,采用一些翻译策略。本文根据告示语的语言特色和四种不同应用功能,翻译告示语时试图采用的策略分别为直译和意译、归化和异化、语义翻译和交际翻译。
