摘要 

如今，全世界的商务贸易进入飞速发展的时代。全球化为各个地区带来大量商业机会。英语作为全球使用最普遍的语言在商务活动中发挥着重要的作用。而委婉语作为一种语言润色工具，则帮助商务活动人员营造良好的谈话氛围、礼貌地发表个人意见和观点，帮助商家开拓市场、吸引顾客等等。因此，正确、恰当地使用委婉语对于获取商业成功有着非常关键的作用。

本文主要介绍了委婉语的三个主要的语用原则，从原理上形成对委婉语更深层次的理解，并阐述其在商务英语中的运用。此外，商业文化作为文化整体的一部分，在商务沟通中所涉及的一些委婉语应用方法以及在运用时应规避的因文化差异而导致的禁忌用语也应知晓。本文通过以上对委婉语的分析，能够帮助商家合理运用委婉语，创造一个得体舒适的商业交流环境，获得商业利益。
