摘要

近年来中华文化走向世界的步伐加快，外国观众们了解中国的渠道也愈来愈多，其中纪录片便为重要一环。然而国产纪录片字幕翻译界至今并未形成明晰、系统、广为应用的翻译策略。为了得出为中文纪录片英文字幕所用的生态翻译学视角下的实用翻译策略，本文拟从胡庚申教授提出的生态翻译学出发，以纪录片《中国文房四宝》的中英字幕翻译为案例，分析纪录片字幕译文的翻译生态环境，并从“三维”——语言维、文化维和交际维来评析英文译本的优劣和提出相关改进措施。最后根据“适应性选择”原则分析译者所做的选择。经研究，本文的结论是：译者只有充分“适应”译文的翻译生态环境，并在平衡字幕翻译种种制约的情况下作出“选择”，再针对不同的字幕类型，调整语言维、文化维和交际维的信息的取舍，才能更好地提高字幕翻译的质量，以扩大国产纪录片在世界上的影响力，最终达到宣传中国文化、提升国家形象的目的。
