摘要

随着全球化趋势日益显著，新闻英语作为一种从未缺席的媒介，在跨文化传播中起着不可小觑的作用。由于新闻英语有着鲜明的语言形式和特点，这种应用文体具有极高的研究价值。新闻英语的特点决定了新闻英语的翻译有所限，而新闻英语的翻译正好反映了新闻英语的特点，二者相得益彰。新闻英语翻译在中西方文化交流中扮演了桥梁的作用，其翻译实践迫切需要有效的理论指导。本文主要阐述了新闻英语在词汇、句式及语言风格三个方面的特点，同时从功能派理论入手，对新闻英语的翻译原则和翻译策略进行讨论和探究。
