摘要

肯定与否定，这两种形式都是在人们日常交流中非常重要的语言现象。而否定不管在中文还是英文的表达中都应用的十分广泛，但如何恰当地进行表达使之传递有效的信息，每个国家所采取的形式都不一样。

数十年来，各国语言学者已经对否定做过了一系列的研究。丹麦著名语言学家叶斯泊森在深入研究否定的基础上开创性地提出了自己的见解，把否定分为一般否定与特殊否定。自那之后，夸克，利奇等人在这一理论的基础上，从语法这一角度综合分析了英语中否定的存在形式。

此外，不少中国学者为进一步方便国人对于第二语言的学习，开始对比研究英汉这两种语言表达否定时的异同，其中著名语言学家陈平在英汉否定结构上的对比研究，对第二语言的学习产生了十分深远的影响。此后，李春晓，章振邦，张道真，贾玉新，李淑静，刘重德等人也相继做出了很多有价值的研究，为第二语言的学习提供了思路。

但迄今为止，学术界对于前人的研究发现仍然没有一个系统的梳理与总结，因此本文在查阅大量研究资料的基础上，梳理在过去的几十年中，中外学者在否定表达上所做的一系列研究与获得的理论成果，总结出各个阶段不同的研究发现与相应特点，然后对中英在否定表达上的差异从三个方面包括语法，语义以及语用进行对比分析，得出最终结论。

具体如下：第一，在语法上，英语中特指否定较多，而汉语中大多是一般否定。除此之外，英语中还经常会出现否定转移的现象，中文中没有；第二，从语义角度讲，用一个表面看起来肯定的词或句来表达否定的意义这种情况一般只在英语中出现，汉语中很难找到这样的例子。最后在语用层面上，中国人更倾向于用较含蓄的方式来表达拒绝，而英美往往会更加直接。
