摘要 

精炼的语言，优美的意象是诗歌的标志特征。本文在分析中西诗学对意象的定义和主要的自然意象后，选取英汉诗歌中的海洋意象作为主要分析对象。从比较英汉海洋诗歌为出发点，选取大量包含海洋意象的英汉诗句，分析英汉诗歌中海洋意象的相似点与不同点。目的是系统分析海洋意象的作用，并且总结英汉诗歌中海洋意象产生异同的原因：即文化传统与海洋观的不同。通过研究中西海洋观对诗歌创作的影响以及当代海洋意象的发展趋势，揭示海洋观对世界文化融合与发展的推动作用。
