Gender Differences Reflected in Refusal Strategies —— A Case Study of Pride And Prejudice_英语论文

摘要

拒绝言语行为已有的研究主要是从语用和跨文化差异的角度来分析，从性别差异角度的研究并不多。本文以《傲慢与偏见》中的拒绝话语为语料，基于面子理论，对拒绝类言语行为的性别差异进行研究，分析两性角色分别采用的一系列拒绝策略，并且研究造成差异的潜在因素。研究发现，两性在选择言语拒绝的策略有不同的表现，女性的拒绝言语行为在内容和形式上更为丰富，一般结合了几种不同的拒绝策略，如直接拒绝和表达歉意的结合，表达感谢和话题转移的结合等，且女性倾向于使用间接性言语策略来表达她们的言外拒绝之意；而男性则较多使用直接言语策略以及诸如沉默、犹豫、面部表情、走开等非言语策略。深入探讨拒绝言语行为的性别差异性，有助于跨性别交际的顺利进行，有利于推动社会交际的和谐发展。
