摘要

D·H·劳伦斯是英国二十世纪最伟大的小说家之一，他的著作《儿子与情人》于1913年出版。在某种程度上，《儿子与情人》是一部以直白的叙述与生动的情节为表现形式的自传体小说。

成长小说起源于德国，讲述了特定社会背景下，个人的成长与发展的过程。书中的主人公保罗，生活在一个工业社会下的矿工家庭里。在莫瑞尔太太过分的母爱与保护之下，保罗一开始是一个脆弱听话的小男孩。但是在经历了一系列失败的爱情和莫瑞尔太太的离世之后，保罗最终获得了独立，变得成熟。本文以成长小说理论为基础，研究主人公保罗蜕变和成长的过程，希望能为解读这部作品提供新的视角。
