摘要

艾略特是英国著名的现代诗人、剧作家和文学批评家，《荒原》为其代表作，也是现代英美诗歌的里程碑，影响深远。作品中诗人笔下的“荒原”满目荒凉，上帝与人、人与人之间失去了爱的联系，处于外部世界荒凉、内心世界空虚的荒废境地，折射出艾略特独特的诗学思想。

本论文借助艾略特的早期著作《传统与个人才能》，以《荒原》文本作为研究基础，分析作品中所透露出来的神话、典故、意象等一系列“客观对应物”，重点研究艾略特的三种诗学思想，旨在表明人类只有回归宗教信仰和东西方的智慧才能在物欲横流的现代社会获得精神救赎。
