摘要

莎士比亚和汤显祖分别被誉为东西方最伟大的戏剧家，巧合的是，两人都生活在十六世纪。两人的作品都被认为是无价的瑰宝，在舞台上闪耀了数百年。汤显祖是我国明代著名戏剧家，《牡丹亭》是他最得意的作品。《牡丹亭》通过描写杜丽娘和柳梦梅生死离合的爱情故事，控诉封建的婚姻制度和灭人欲的礼教思想。莎士比亚是其所处时代最杰出的戏剧家,《罗密欧与朱丽叶》是他最有名的小说。其把斗争的矛头指向腐朽的封建制度和封建的道德伦理观念。体现了文艺复兴时期时代精神。

本文旨在通过对两位女主人公命运的对比分析来探讨当时东西方文化差异和爱情观的差异，试图找出造成两位女性悲剧结局的原因。两位女人公都美丽天真，善良纯洁，且勇敢坚定地追求自己的爱情，是女性觉醒的标志。但是由于时代和历史的局限性，她们的命运却都具有浓厚的悲剧色彩。杜丽娘历经生死换来与刘梦梅的团圆结局。朱丽叶在阴差阳错下与爱人双双殒命。她们都是封建社会的牺牲者。
