A Comparative Study of Mottoes in Chinese and American Famous University From the Perspective of Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions_英语论文
摘要
随着中国经济的腾飞,中国高校文化日益受到国外各界人士的热切关注。校训是聚集一所大学的教育理念、文化内涵和历史积淀于一体的外在表现和浓缩,是了解一所大学的最佳窗口。作为当今跨文化管理方面最权威的专家之一,吉尔特·霍夫斯泰德的文化维度理论在文化含义解读上产生了巨大的影响。本文试通过建立中美著名大学校训语料库,结合霍夫斯泰德文化维度理论,试从选词特征、表现形式、来源等方面分析中美校训差异。分析中美校训存在差异的原因,并提出相应的建议与意见,从而让读者对中西方文化差异有更加深刻的理解,避免与美国文化交流时一些不必要的误会和摩擦。
