摘要

在生态文学领域，自然、社会、精神一直是人们着重研究的方面。环境恶化时，人们更倾向于从自然本身和科学技术的进步来寻找源头和解决方法，却往往忽略了精神生态这个至关重要的层面。《白鲸》描述的捕鲸人对海洋资源剑走偏锋式的掠夺，也是当下人们过度开发自然的真实写照。本文通过精神生态批评入手，结合人物的性格和命运变化，在分析悲剧产生原因的同时，揭示现代生态危机的实质，旨在帮助人们走出“人类中心主义”的误区。
