摘要

当代著名的英国女作家珍妮特温特森，因其晦涩难懂的文笔和独具一格的叙事风格，引起了学术界的不少关注。她的小说《给樱桃以性别》讲述了生活在17世纪的女巨人狗妇和养子约旦、生活在20世纪的尼古拉斯和女化学家两个扑朔迷离的故事。在温特森笔下，无论在物理上、身体上还是心理上的空间都是宽广自由的，变幻莫测的，耐人寻味的。空间叙事学，作为叙事学受到法国结构主义影响后的产物，从上个世纪六十年代开始不断发展，并被学者运用到不同领域，加强了对空间因素的研究和分析。本文将利用空间叙事学相关理论,对作者的空间意识和小说的叙事特点进行分析，从而挖掘这部后现代小说的主题和文学价值，提供一个从空间叙事学视角的解读。通过文本分析，本文讨论了作者是如何通过空间叙事技巧完成小说主题的呈现，从而揭示作者试图通过写作表达的对后现代社会发展的批判与关怀的期望。
