摘要

为一种正式、严肃的英语，法律英语用词精确而固定，大量使用古体英语、拉丁语以及其他外来语。在语言学不断发展的同时，也应该对法律文本所使用的英语予以重视，因为语言是法律得以为人所知的外在形式，对于法律规则、原则、精神的传达尤为重要。本研究将采用韩礼德的系统功能语言学作为理论指导，以功能语篇分析为方法，对三大元功能进行分析。通过对《巴黎协定》中的文本进行分析，剖析法律英语的普遍特点。本研究希望通过以上途径，为研究法律英语提供一条新的研究道路，同时也是对韩礼德的系统功能语言学的又一次的应用，再次验证该理论的正确性。以此为交叉学科的研究做出贡献，为必将不断壮大的法律语言学提供新的可能性。
