Contradictory Morality: An analysis of Aesthetics in Oscar Wilde’s The picture of Dorian Gray_英语论文

摘要

奥斯卡·王尔德作为史上“为艺术而艺术”的先驱和代言人，于1890年创作了他短暂一生唯一一部发表的长篇小说 —— 《道林·格雷的画像》。他用唯美主义作为反对资产阶级道德的武器，并对人们进行道德教育。但是，这部小说的出版在禁欲的维多利亚时期饱受冷遇和抨击，并被标上了“不道德”的标签。

国内外学者对《道林·格雷的画像》进行了深入的研究，其研究水平已然成熟，但从唯美主义这一角度还不是很完善，因此本文将立足于唯美主义这一角度，根据国内外不同学者对唯美主义的理解，将之与道德相联系，通过分析文章中的三个主要人物形象和反映的思想内容等，指出作者典型的唯美主义与其背后隐藏的道德意识。
