Error Analysis of and Coping Strategies for the Vocabulary Part of TEM4  

摘要

英语专业四级考试中，词汇项目是测试学生对词汇的掌握程度，要求学生掌握基础阶段认知词汇，正确运用单词及其基本搭配。从考试时间和考试题量上来说，学生需要在最短的时间内发挥出自己的词汇水平，没有太多的反应时间，所以历届考试中这部分失分相对较大。本文对历届专四考试试卷中词汇项目进行了归纳分析，归纳出考点类型及出现的频率，并制作出相应的图表，通过对频率的比较来提醒学生对各个知识点重心的把握。同时以现场做题的方式，对现场的三十份试卷中词汇部分进行错误分析，对做题学生进行现场访谈。得出学生各个错误类型的失分率，调查显示动词、动词短语和名词部分失分率都较高。最后总结出相应的对策帮助专业四级考试的考生更好地应对这一题型。

Abstract

As an authoritative way to test the English ability of English majors, the test for English majors is considered an important test nowadays. The test includes a 30-item Grammar and Vocabulary part. Beneath each item there are four choices. Students should select one that best completes the sentence. However, they have only fifteen minutes to finish this part. Because of the time limit. it is a bit difficult for students to finish this part well. The report is aimed to research the methods of students to cope with this part better. It analyzes the vocabulary part of the past exam papers. Then some students would do a test of vocabulary. The causes of their errors would be concluded. At last, the strategies for the students who would take part in Test for English Majors, Band 4(TEM4) would be given.
