从“三美论”看毛泽东诗词中典故的英文翻译_英语论文
On English Translation of Allusions in Mao Zedong’s Poems from the Perspective of “Three Beauties”
摘要
诗歌所表达的内容极为丰富,常常超出其文字所涵盖的内容,而典故是语言的精华。中国诗歌和典故是中华文化中耀眼的繁星。作为毛泽东诗词一个显著的特征,典故的频繁使用,为其增添了色彩,同时也成为理解毛诗的障碍。为了更好地理解、欣赏毛诗,首先需要理解其中的典故。本文以许渊冲“三美”论为理论支撑,对比辜正坤、许渊冲的毛诗译本,检验两种译本的典故翻译。经过检验,许渊冲的译本在“音美”、“义美”、“形美”三个方面都要比辜正坤的译本略胜一筹,应得到更多的认同和阅读,同时,两种译文都检验验证了“三美”论在指导典故翻译中的实用性。

Abstract
Poems express more than they say and allusions contain original meanings as well as new meanings. They both are quintessences of language. Mao Zedong is a master of combining poems and allusions perfectly to express his ideas. Hence, allusion is on one side a remarkable feature of Mao’s poems, and on the other side an obstacle to the understanding of his poems. In order to understand and appreciate Mao’s poems better, one has to first understand the connotation of allusions used. This thesis compares and evaluates Gu Zhengkun’s and Xu Yuanchong’s translation of allusions in Mao’s poems on the basis of a widely-accepted translation theory---“Three Beauties”. Xu’s version is found to be better in all the three perspectives including “Beauty in Sense”, “Beauty in Sound” and “Beauty in Form”.
