摘要

《赎罪》是当代英国作家麦克尤恩的著名作品。自从《赎罪》发表以后，备受读者欢迎，而且学者们也对这部作品进行了深入的研究。本文分析了小说主人公布里奥尼犯罪的原因，遭受的折磨以及赎罪的方法。本文最终得出结论：当人违背自己的良知而犯下道德错误后，将很难得到解脱和救赎。

Abstract

Atonement is a famous work of McEwan，a contemporary British writer. Since the publishment of Atonement, it has been popular with readers, and has been studied a lot by scholars. This thesis analyses the causes of Briony, the heroine’s crime, what she has suffered and her ways of atonement. The thesis reaches the conclusion that once a crime is committed against one’s conscience, it is difficult to get relieved and gain atonement.
