功能等值理论指导下的影视字幕翻译-以《锅匠，裁缝，士兵，间谍》电影为例_英语论文

Subtitle Translation under the Guidance of Functional Equivalence-Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy as a Case in Point  

摘 要

功能等值理论是美国的语言学家，翻译家尤金·奈达尤为突出的贡献，而其中最为重要的就是运用各种方法与手段以最贴近、最自然的方式来实现用译语来表达原文的目的，并且使得译语读者与原语读者有着最相近的反应。由于功能等值理论解决了很多长期以来的翻译问题，等值理论被众多的译者广泛的使用。影视字幕翻译作为翻译工作中的一个重要组成部分，也充分的运用了奈达的功能等值理论。电影《锅匠，裁缝，士兵，间谍》是2011年上映的间谍类电影，其围绕英国的情报组织“圆场”和俄国的间谍机构“中心”之间的一名双面间谍展开挖掘和调查。该电影在第84届奥斯卡金像奖中多次获奖提名，是一部堪称大师级作品的电影。在这部电影中，人物关系众多，历史背景事件复杂，且大量使用俚语俗语等等。目前的翻译有多个版本，良莠不齐。本论文首先介绍功能等值理论的基本内容和研究成果，然后重点探讨功能等值理论对于《锅匠，裁缝，士兵，间谍》中字幕翻译的指导意义。

Abstract

Functional equivalence theory is Nida one of the most outstanding contributions of Eugene A. Nida, a American linguist and translator, in which the most important part is to make target language readers and original language readers similarly reacted by kinds of ways to express original purposes in target language naturally. Because functional equivalence theory supplies solutions and guidance to many long-standing problems of translation, it is widely used by translators. And subtitle translation, which is an important part of translation; also sufficiently apply Nida’s functional equivalence theory. The movie Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a spy movie in 2011, which expanded by a double agent’s excavation and survey, who is belong to British intelligence organization “circle” and Russian spy agency “center”. The movie got several award nominations at the 84th annual Oscar Award, which is a masterpiece. In the movie, there are lots of characters, complex historical background events, extensive slang and folk adages and so on. So there are not only good translations, but also weaknesses in the translated version right now, then through specific examples to explore the guidance significance and influence that functional equivalence theory bring to the subtitle translation of the movie.
