An Analysis of Four Translated Versions of When You Are Old_英语论文

摘要

本文将从四位译者对于Yeats的When You Are Old的不同译本着手，首先分析当代的一些翻译标准，引出许渊冲老先生的“优化论”，从词法，句法和连接词方面分析原诗的创作特点。其次，从题目及翻译风格等方面，就四个不同译本进行比较，并针对译者的身份及其生活的年代对其翻译作品的影响进行分析。最后，受严复所提出的翻译标准的影响，总结出自己的看法：翻译诗歌时，要追求意义和情感，两者缺一不可，最重要的是要运用目标语传达原文所表达的意义，毋需拘泥于原文的形式，尽可能做到奈达提出的“功能对等”和许渊冲老先生的优化论。
