美国浪漫主义作家赫尔曼·梅尔维尔在经历了一系列商业小说成功后，写作题材转向晦涩深奥，其发表于1853年的著名短篇小说《抄写员巴特比——一个华尔街的故事》就是其中之一。该篇通过运用丰富的符号象征手法，塑造了巴特比这一悲剧人物形象。本文试分析小说中所运用到的一系列符号，包括：巴特比，墙，以及超验主义，来阐释这篇小说的写作手法

Abstract

After a series of business successes, Herman Melville, one of the great American romanticist writers, makes his works more recondite. “Bartleby, the Scrivener” published in 1853 is one of them. Herman Melville casts the protagonist as a real, concrete tragic figure through lavish usage of symbolism. This article aims to reveal its symbols, including Bartleby himself, Wall, and Transcendentalism, and makes its obscure writing clearer.
