论伊索寓言中动物主角的选择原因和依据-以“狮子”为例

On Reasons and Basis for Animal Protagonist Selection in Aesop’s Fables-With “Lion”as an Example

本文以狮子为例对《伊索寓言》中的动物主人公进行分析，旨在帮助读者了解作者的写作意图和《伊索寓言》的深刻含义。研究表明伊索选择动物作为寓言的主人公主要由于以下几点：社会背景、伊索的自身经历、动物主人公的优势。为了让读者更深刻地理解伊索寓言中的动物主角的含义， 通过精心的摘录本文进行了狮子的原始应用和象征意义以及狮子主角的研究。

最终本文得出结论：伊索寓言中狮子的常用含义；社会背景、西方文化和写作目的决定了伊索选择动物作为寓言的主人公。

Abstract

The thesis attempts to conduct an analysis of animal protagonists in Aesop’s Fables by taking lions as examples, with the aim to boost readers’ understanding of the author’s purpose and the implication of the Fables. Analyses show that Aesop had chosen animals as the protagonists of the Fables out of some main reasons ---the social background, his own experience, and the advantages of animal protagonists.   In order to facilitate further readers’ understanding of the connotations of animal protagonists, this thesis goes on to discuss the origin use and symbolic meanings of lions through careful excerpts containing lion protagonists. 

Final conclusion demonstrates the common senses of lions in Aesop’s Fables. It also shows that social background, western culture and writing motivations had decided Aesop’s choice of animals as the protagonists of the Fables.
