An Analysis of the Image of Cain in the Myth of Cain

摘要

本文以圣经该隐的故事为文本，对该隐的形象进行分析。本文从七宗罪中的贪婪，愤怒和嫉妒三个方面进行研究分析，为分析该隐形象提供了一个较新颖的视角和立足点。为了对该隐人物形象有更深入的认识，本文具体从以下三个方面进行分析：首先通过介绍其出生，姓名，职业和供物，分析该隐的贪婪；其次通过对该隐对亚伯的谋杀这一具体行为分析该隐的愤怒；最后通过剖析该隐与上帝的交流分析该隐的嫉妒。总之，本文的三个主要章节分别论述了该隐性格的三个方面，最终达到对该隐形象有更深了解的目的。

Abstract

The thesis uses the myth of Cain in Bible as text and analyzes the image of Cain. This thesis focuses on three different aspects of the seven deadly sins, which are greed, wrath and envy. It is expected to provide a new viewpoint and foothold to help know more about the image of Cain. In order to offer some insight into the image of Cain, the thesis is discussed in three directions. In the first place, Cain’s greed will be analyzed by introducing his birth, name, occupation and his offering. Then Cain’s wrath will be analyzed by his concrete behavior of murdering Abel. In the last place, it mainly talks about Cain’s envy, which would be analyzed under the communication between God and Cain. In a word, this thesis conducts analysis from three different aspects which discusses three characters of Cain respectively. Finally, achieve the goal of having a deeper knowledge of the image of Cain.
