关于人与动物之间的关系在《野性的呼唤》中体现的研究_英语论文

A Study of the Relationship between Humans and Animals in The Call of the Wild

摘要

本文首先介绍了《野性的呼唤》的作者的人生经历和时代背景，以《野性的呼唤》作为分析对象，详细解释作者选取一条狗作为主人公的深刻用意。一方面，本文通过比较巴克与作者的相似之处来分析人与动物之间存在的共同点，一条狗的人生经历与作者的人生经历存在着许多相似之处，说明人性和野性存在关联；另一方面，本文通过分析人与动物之间的不同点来阐述人与动物之间的不平等的关系，说明当代社会中，动物更加需要人类的保护，而人类也需要动物的辅助。本文从异同两个方向入手，全面阐述人与动物之间的关系，从而引申出人性与野性的关系。

Abstract 

This thesis introduces the author’s life experiences and the background of The Call of the Wild firstly. It chooses the book as the object to explain the profound meanings of selecting Buck, who was a dog, as the hero of the story in detail. In one hand, the thesis finds it there is many similarities between humans and animals through comparing Buck and Jack London. The life experience of the dog was similar with the author’s. It tells that there is a connection between humans and animals. On the other hand, this thesis also explains the unequal relationship between humans and animals in modern world. Animals need humans’ protection, and humans need animals’ help sometimes. This thesis analyzes the differences and the similarities of humans and animals to explain the relationship between them and the connection between humanity and wild.
