An Analysis of the Features of Conversational Implicature in Downton Abbey Season 1_英语论文

摘要

美国语言学家格莱斯在1967年提出了会话含义，会话含义也就是在违背合作原则的准则下跨越说话人的字面意义来推断话语的内在含义，从而导致了会话含义的产生。该理论对当时的语言学界有着极大震撼，乃至现今，它也备受语言学家的关注。英剧《唐顿庄园》第一季主要讲述了在乔治五世时期，唐顿庄园的格兰瑟姆伯爵一家，由家产问题而引发的种种纠葛和摩擦，呈现了英国上层贵族与其仆人们在森严的等级社会下的人间百态。本文分析了《唐顿庄园》第一季中生动的人物对话，透过剧情中种种社会背景，人物背景及其他各方面因素来探讨了说话人的种种意图，从而使听话人能通过话语的表层意义洞察其深层含义，进而理解说话人的真实意图。
