The Alienation of African American Women in The Bluest Eye

摘要

作为第一位获得诺贝尔文学奖的黑人女作家，托尼·莫里森著有《最蓝的眼睛》、《苏拉》、《宠儿》等作品。通过在作品中运用现实主义和现代主义相结合的艺术手法，托尼·莫里森从内容和形式上都开创了美国文学的新天地。其作品主要描写了黑人，尤其是黑人女性的悲惨遭遇。本文主要通过分析《最蓝的眼睛》中黑人女性出现的迷失、异化现象，揭示白人主流文化对黑人女性所造成心理困惑，以及由此所造成的家庭悲剧。

Abstract

As the first African American female writer winning the Nobel Prize in Literature, Toni Morrison has some famous works like The Bluest Eye, Sula, and Beloved. By combining Realism and Modernism in her works, she creates a new world in American literature. Her works mainly describe the miserable experience of African Americans, especially that of African American women. By analyzing the alienation of African American women and its reasons in The Bluest Eye, this paper aims to discuss the psychological problem and family tragedies under the influence of the mainstream culture.
