论英语课堂中的有效词汇教学_英语论文
Towards Effective Vocabulary Teaching in the EFL Class
摘要
在英语课堂中,词汇作为英语语言的基础,词汇教学似乎尤为重要。在中国,英语教师通常十分关注词汇教学。他们认为词汇教学与语法教学的重要性旗鼓相当,可以是等同的。然而在中国的英语课堂中,教师通常使用传统的词汇教学方法,来教授课本中词汇表中的词汇。教师首先会纠正单词的发音,然后用中文解释单词的意思,给出与单词有关的固定搭配或词组,最后可能会用单词造几个例句。教师就以这种孤立的方法教授词汇而不是结合语境。这样就导致学生对所学的词汇一知半解,无法正确使用单词。长此以往,学生对英语学习产生厌恶情绪,对英语学习的热情降低也就不足为奇了。教师应明白语境因素在词汇教学中的重要性,能够给予更多的关注,并且致力于创造语境教学来增强英语教学效果。

Abstract
In EFL class, vocabulary teaching seems to be more important, since vocabulary is the base of the English. In China, teachers usually pay much attention to vocabulary teaching, and believe its importance equals to the grammars. However in China’s EFL class, teachers usually use the traditional way to teach vocabulary in vocabulary list in the textbook. They first teach the pronunciation of the word, and then explain the meaning in Chinese, afterwards they give a few phrases of the words, and at last they may give some sample sentences by using the word. Teachers teach vocabulary isolated instead in context. As a result, the students have scanty knowledge in learning vocabulary and can’t use the words correctly. After a long time, it’s not strange that students gets bored of English learning and show less enthusiasm for learning English. In EFL class, teachers should understand the importance of the contextual factor in vocabulary teaching and pay more attention to it and devote more effort in creating contexts to improve the effects of teaching.
