An Intercultural Analysis of Sino-American Marriages----Viewed From Chinese American Literature

摘要

跨文化婚姻是指两个来自不同国家的男女之间发生的跨越种族和文化的婚姻和恋情。这种现象如今日益普遍，但这并不意味着这样的婚姻越来越成功。不同的背景，信仰，价值观和语言都或多或少的影响到跨国婚姻的幸福程度。而华裔文学多有涉及到跨国婚姻这一主题。本文从华裔文学的角度探讨跨国婚姻中的文化冲突和文化认同。通过这次讨论，本文旨在分析跨文化关系产生的原因，跨文化关系产生的冲突，并探讨其发生的原因，然后给予解决，以此来展示跨文化交际不同的一面。

Abstract

Intercultural marriages mean marriages between two people who are from different cultural systems. This phenomena becomes more and more popular nowadays, while, it’s not that this kind of marriages become more and more successful. The different backgrounds, believes, values and languages all lead more or less influences to the happiness degree of intercultural marriages. The thesis explores the cultural conflicts and cultural identities from the perspective of the intercultural marriage in the Sino-American literature. Through this discussion, the thesis aims to analyze the conflicts of intercultural relationships and explore the reasons which contribute to this phenomena, then give the solutions to moderate the intercultural communication.
