摘要

在福克纳的短篇小说代表《献给艾米丽的玫瑰》一作中，艾米丽小姐的悲剧命运吸引了许多学者的目光，于此同时，其悲剧命运的成因也成为了研究的热点。本文着眼于社会环境、父权制度和个人因素这三个方面，在仔细研读作品的基础上较为全面地分析了女主人公悲剧命运的成因。并得出这样的结论，严酷的社会环境和专制的父权制度限制了艾米丽内外的发展，而扭曲的人格亦使她过着与外界脱节的生活。这三方原因的共同作用促使艾米丽的人生变成了一个无法避免的悲剧。

Abstract

In Faulkner's most representative short story A Rose for Emily, the heroine Miss Emily's tragic fate attracted a number of scholars' attention. At the same time, the causes of her tragedy became a hot spot of study. On the basis of the close reading of the work, this paper comprehensively analyses the causes of Emily's tragedy from three aspects: social environmental causes, patriarchal chauvinism and the her individuality. Finally it draws the conclusion that the social environmental causes and patriarchal chauvinism twists Emily's individuality, and these three factors work together and make Emily's life an inevitable tragedy.
