A Contrastive Research on the Funeral Custom between China and UK

摘要

习俗是一面镜子，透过它我们可以看到一个民族和国家的文化素养以及精神面貌。丧葬习俗流传至今，已经有好几千年的历史了。它如同人类文明一样古老。世界上每个民族都有自己独特的丧葬习俗。它是文化现象的重要组成部分。自古以来人和自然就是不可分割的统一整体。丧葬活动作为人生篇章的最后一章节，其内容重要，意义非凡。中西丧葬文化差异是文化交际现象众多表现形式之一。本文以西方的英国为代表，与中国的丧葬习俗进行对比。

Abstract

Custom just like a mirror, we can see the national cultural literacy, mental outlook and material civilization through it. Spread up to now, funeral customs have been performed for thousands of years. They are as old as human civilization. Each nationality has its own unique funeral customs in the world, which should be respected. They are one of the significant parts in cultural phenomenon. Since ancient times, humankind and nature is inseparable as a whole. Funeral cultural diversities between Chinese and Western is one of the forms in cultural communication. This article represented by Britain, which comparing with Chinese funeral customs.
