摘要

《小城畸人》是美国作家舍伍德·安德森最具影响力的著作，通过对“畸人”们怪异的外表形态、言行举止以及封闭压抑的心理状态的归类与分析，并借此进一步从社会环境与家庭环境来探究“畸人”形成的根本原因，可以将“畸人”的审美价值揭示出来，也能更好地理解安德森借助作品传递出来的启示，即提醒人们关注内心世界，注重与他人的心灵沟通。

Abstract

Winesburg Ohio is the most distinguished work of the American author Sherwood Anderson. By classifying and analyzing the bizarre appearances, words and behaviors of the grotesque characters, the author investigates the root causes of the grotesqueness in the light of both social and home environment. The discussion of the aesthetic value of  the grotesques can help readers better understand the enlightenment conveyed by this book and encourages people  to look into their souls and establish more effective and close communication with each other.
