Cultural Barriers in Sino-British Business Cooperation

摘要

随着经济全球化进程的推进，中英之间的经济贸易合作也越来越紧密，跨文化交流越来越频繁，文化冲突与矛盾也随之而来，轻则使跨国合作出现一些问题，重则甚至会导致合作失败。所以对于中英之间文化差异的研究和认知显得尤为必要。本文旨在对比研究中英文化背景及差异并在此基础上提出合理的减少和越过中英商务合作方面的文化障碍的建议，促进中英双方在国际商贸方面的顺利合作。

Abstract

With the deepening of economic globalization, China’s cooperation with the UK is becoming closer and closer. However, cultural conflicts which have more or less impact on those cooperation come right after that. Meanwhile, intercultural communication is playing a more and more important role in today’s Sino- British business cooperation. Therefore, it is important to understand and study the cultural differences between China and the UK. This dissertation aims at studying the cultural differences between China and the UK through a comparative study on the basis of previous studies and theoretical achievements in order to help you have a good understanding of China and the UK’s corporate cultures and to find out the cultural barriers between China and the UK in business contexts. Then, I would like to put forward some reasonable suggestions to help reduce those cultural barriers and achieve success in Sino-British business cooperation.
