摘要

校训所表达的不仅是厚重的传统文化，同时准确地传达出大学的办学目标、办学特色和思想精神。在规范高校师生行为，激励高校师生不断进步上发挥着重要作用。随着我国高等教育国际化速度的加快，国内大学与国外大学的交流与竞争越来越频繁，大学校训英译的对外宣传功能渐渐走入人们的视野并为人们所重视。但是，中国大学校训的翻译质量参差不齐，导致有的译文无法传达原文的内涵，无法更好的发挥对外宣传的功能。因此，中国高校校训的翻译值得学者们深入的研讨。本文以目的论为视角，利用具体翻译方法和翻译技巧探讨中国高校校训英译，为校训翻译提供一些借鉴，促进校训翻译工作更好开展。
