勃朗特姐妹小说中的女性形象及其女权主义_英语论文

The Female Images and Their Feminist Consciousness in the Novels of the Bronte Sisters

摘要

十九世纪欧洲文学发展过程中，勃朗特姐妹的作品掀起了一阵风暴。19世纪早期，妇女在社会上没有地位。但在勃朗特姐妹的作品中，深深存在着女权主义的思想。在夏洛蒂.勃朗特四部小说中最出名的《简·爱》，被称之为女性的独立宣言，而和《简·爱》相比，安妮.勃朗特的《艾格尼斯·格雷》仍笼罩在男权的阴影下；艾米丽·勃朗特的作品《呼啸山庄》则更激进，女性试图控制男性。勃朗特姐妹的作品反应了三种不同的男女关系以及这些关系对社会造成的影响。本文试图对这些作品中的女性形象与女性意识进行分析研究。

Abstract

In the 19th-Century Development of European Culture, the works of the Bronte Sisters has taken the history of the Europe Literature by storm. In the early 19th century there is little chances and space for women. But in the Bronte Sisters’ works, there are feminist views deeply. “ Jane Eyre”, the most famous works among the four novels of Charlotte Bronte, could be regarded as the declaration of independence of feminism； Compared with  “ Jane Eyre”, in Annie’s works “Agnes· Grey”, there is still shadow of patriarchy； Emily Bronte’s work “ Wuthering Heights” is more radical， women want  to control men. Bronte sisters’ works declare their three different senses of relationship between males and females and the influences to society of these three different senses. This thesis tries to analyze the female images and female consciousnesses in these works.
