本文将着重分析狄更斯的善恶观，人道主义观点以及他对虚伪的批判。通过详实的对比分析，探寻《雾都孤儿》一书中狄更斯道德观的具体体现。

Abstract

Charles Dickens, as the greatest representation of English critical realism, has produced numerable works disclosing the social reality.

The author, by telling the story of an orphan boy, Oliver Twist, whose adventures provide a description of the lower depths of London, reveals the darkness of the capitalist society and the hypocrisy among people.

The novel is an expression to Dickens’ view on the social morality, in the meanwhile embodying his pursuits of ideal moral standards. Thus, this thesis, will concentrate on Dickens’ moral views on good and evil, his pursuits of humanism and his criticism of hypocrisy. In the following part, the thesis, will reveal to people how the author’s morality is specifically manifested through detailed analyses and contrasts.
