中英餐桌礼仪的比较研究_英语论文

A Comparative Study on Chinese and English Table Manners

摘要

随着全球化的拓展深入，中国与西方国家之间的交流的机会已经扩大。因此，跨文化交际在人们的生活中起着重要的作用。作为跨文化交际的一个重要方面，在某些场合，餐桌礼仪可以决定跨文化交际的成功与否。所以，比较研究中英两国的餐桌礼仪是非常有意义的。中国和英国的餐桌礼仪有相似之处也有不同之处，他们在座次安排、开席离席方式上类似。区别主要体现在四个方面：餐具、上菜顺序、用餐礼仪、和餐桌气氛。学习理解上述的异同研究以及产生异同的原因，可以帮助英语学习者提高他们的跨文化交际意识。

Abstract

With the deepening of globalization, the chance of communication between China and western countries has been expanded. Cross-culture communication therefore, plays an important role in people’s life. As an important aspect of cross-culture communication, table manners in some occasions could decide whether a cross-cultural communication is successful or not. Thus, it is meaningful to make a comparative study on the table manners of China and England. Chinese and English table manners have similarities as well as differences. They are similar in the arrangement of seats and the way of starting/finishing the meal. They differ mainly in four perspectives: tableware, the serving order of dishes, dining etiquettes, and atmosphere at table. Being aware of the above differences and the root causes of them could help English learners raise their awareness in cross-cultural communication.
