摘要 

《荆棘鸟》是考琳·麦卡洛最成功的一部长篇小说。它描写了克里尔家族一家生活的起伏以及爱恨情仇。其中着重描写了克里尔家的小女儿和神父拉尔夫的爱情故事。霍达的《穆斯林的葬礼》可以看作一个中国穆斯林家族史诗，细致刻画了穆斯林家族的起伏并且讲述了两代人的爱情故事。由于这两部小说涉及三代人之间的爱与恨，跨越近半个世纪的时间线，显示出宗教、社会规则、家庭教育和战争等一系列因素造成的悲剧，他们有着很多共同点。

国内外的学者大多是分开研究两部小说并集中于研究分析人物角色，但对两部作品的比较研究很少。本论文将从二元对立这个角度入手，通过分析神性与世俗性、父权制与女性主义的对立，以及分析和比较两部作品中的主要人物，揭示悲剧产生的原因，以及两位作者如何成功地塑造人物形象，深化主题，并加深小说中的悲剧色彩。
