Beauty of Harmony in Walden: An Eco-Critical Approach

摘要

亨利·大卫·梭罗(Henry David Thoreau)在瓦尔登湖畔独居两年零两个月的生活经历使他重新审视了当下环境，从而创作了对全球环境有着积极影响而被广为流传的《瓦尔登湖》。因此，也造就了梭罗当代环境主义运动先驱的地位。这本美国文学史上的“绿色圣经”蕴含的生态伦理思想发人深思。梭罗认为人类扭曲了与自然的关系以及对自然的看法，他反对人类中心论，认为人与自然应是和谐融洽的关系。而且，在其思想的引领下，梭罗过着简单、审美和自由的生活，他的这种生活方式有助于现代人类对自身生活的反省。作品中梭罗的生态伦理思想对于唤起人们生态的意识以及我国构建社会主义和谐社会有着重要的意义。

Abstract

Henry David Thoreau’s solitary life experience for two years and two months at Walden Pond made him re-examine the current environment, thereby creating the masterpiece Walden, which was widely spread for the positive influence on the current global environment protection. Therefore, Thoreau’s outstanding pioneering of modern environmentalists is also accomplished. Ecological ethical thoughts contained in this “Green Bible” in American literary history sets people thinking. Thoreau believed that people distorted the relationship between man and nature, and people’s view of nature. He rejected anthropocentrism and thought that Man and nature should be harmoniously united. Under the guidance of this thought, Thoreau lived a simple, aesthetic and free life, which is conducive to the modern people’s reflection on their lifestyle. Thoreau’s ecological ethical thoughts are of great significance to arouse people's ecological awareness and construct harmonious society for China.
