A Cognitive-Pragmatic Analysis of the US Foreign Policy Discourse

摘要

目前美国是世界上第一大经济体，而中国是世界上第二大经济体，中美经贸往来密切，因此研究美国对华经济政策对处理中美经贸关系和维护世界经济格局具有重要意义。本研究以美国政府报告为基础搜集近十五年来美国对华经济政策语料创建3,608,663字的语料库，并借助语料库技术，主要运用Ant Conc.软件中的wordlist，concordance等工具对美国对华经济政策话语的历史变迁进行认知语用分析，旨在深刻揭示美国外交政策背后蕴含的偏见、歧视、话语隐性控制等意识形态倾向。

Abstract

At present, in the world, the United States is the largest economy and China is the second largest one. China and the United State have a close relationship between each other in terms of economy and trade. So the research of U.S. economic policy toward China is of great significance for us to handle Sino-U.S. economic and trade relations and maintain the pattern of the world economy. This study is based on a U.S. government report corpus about U.S. economic policy toward China including 3,608,663 words over the past 15 years. And with the aid of corpus, by using the Ant Conc. software, the author tries to explore the historical change of the US economic policy toward China from the cognitive pragmatics perspective, with an aim to reveal prejudice, discrimination, implicit discourse control hidden behind the US foreign policy.
