中英称谓语的比较研究_英语论文

A Comparative Study on English and Chinese Appellations

摘要

称谓语是一种特殊的语言符号，因其承载着大量的文化因素，一直是语言学领域的重要研究对象。它除了具有一般语言符号所具有的功能外，最重要的是能反映出说话人之间的社会关系和社会地位，以及它所代表的文化内涵。不同的民族，由于其特定的群体在特定的地域、特定的文化背景中逐渐形成不同的传统文化，所以作为礼俗文化一部分的称谓语必然有所不同。本文将在文献检索的基础上分别对中英亲属称谓语与社会称谓语进行对比研究，找出亲属称谓语与社会称谓语的相同点与不同点并对其进行对比分析，最终将找出亲属称谓语与社会称谓语的研究对教师教学的意义和学生学习两中语言文化中的作用与意义。

Abstract

Appellation is a special sign in language. As it is the carrier of culture factors, appellation has played the most important role in the field of linguistic. It does not only reflect the normal meaning of the language, but also reflect the relationships and the social status between the people and the meaning of the culture in the conversation. Because of different environments, different races and different cultural backgrounds, the usages of appellations are different. This paper will introduce the definition and classification of appellation. Then it will focus on the analysis of the similarities and differences between kinship terms and social appellation. Lastly, we hope to find out the implications of this comparative study of English and Chinese appellations.
