On Ironic Indirect Speech Act in Pride and Prejudice Based on Adaptation Theory

摘要

已有对反讽类间接言语行为的研究主要基于合作原则与礼貌原则，鲜有以顺应论为理论基础的研究。本论文以《傲慢与偏见》中反讽类间接言语行为为语料，以顺应性为理论基础进行了研究。认为，对《傲慢与偏见》中反讽间接言语行为的解读应顺应交际双方的物理世界、心理世界和文化世界，从而达到理解反讽类间接言语行为的目的。本研究有助于理解反讽类间接言语行为，对于文学作品的赏析也有一定启发作用。

Abstract

The previous scholars mainly study ironic indirect speech act based on Cooperative Principle and Politeness Principle. They seldom study it from the perspective of Adaptation. And this thesis intend to make a comprehensive analysis of ironic indirect speech act in Pride and Prejudice based on Adaptation Theory. In order to understand ironic indirect speech act, the explanation should adapt to communicators’ physical, mental and social worlds. This thesis deepens the readers’ understanding of ironic indirect speech act, and helps readers to appreciate literary works.
