浅析伯纳德·马拉默德《店员》中的文化融合

A Study of Acculturation in Bernard Malamud’s The Assistant

摘  要：美国犹太作家伯纳德·马拉默德（1914—1986）常通过创作文学作品来介入生活、反映现实。他的作品明显地表现出对犹太移民生活状况的关注。他的第二部小说《店员》（1957）以现实主义创作手法折射出当时美国犹太移民的生活境遇。本文从文化融合的角度出发，主要对小说《店员》中的婚姻观，社会关系和宗教文化三个方面进行了研究。本文首先将分析父母及孩子婚姻观上体现出的从分歧到融合的过程，其次分析了两种关系所展示出的文化融合，接着就基督教和犹太教的不断融合进行分析研究。最后本文将的出一个结论，结合当今社会现状，探讨人们对文化差异和融合的正确态度，对小说《店员》进行新的解读。

Abstract: American Jewish writer Bernard Malamud (1914-1986) is often involved in life and reflects the reality through literary works. His work clearly shows concern for the living conditions of Jewish immigrants. His second novel, The Assistant (1957), is a reflection of the living conditions of the Jewish immigrants in the United States in the light of realism. This thesis mainly studies the marriage views, social relationships and religions in The Assistant from the acculturation angle. To begin with, the thesis analyze the marriage different views of parents and children from conflicts to integration. Secondly, the thesis talks about relationship between parents and children, and relationship between the male and female. In addition, acculturation in religion Christianity and Judaism will be discussed. Finally, it is the conclusion which combines current social status quo and explores correct attitudes towards cultural conflicts and integration, and makes a fresh interpretation of The Assistant.
